As the year closes I wish to thank everyone who participated in our shows whether onstage or behind the scenes as it takes team to realise a performance.
We had a wonderful year with the return of a full stage show, Evita, which welcomed many new members. This epic show was played to full houses over two nights under the direction of Nora Lewis and Steve Kidd. Following in the footsteps of Evita the family Disney concert sold out three shows at the uni theatre and was the first time the Chorale targeted a family audience. Paolo Fabris conducted and we had a children’s choir join. Our final concert was with the DSO Odes to Joy. Along with these main concerts we performed at Bombing of Darwin, Anzac Day, Police Remembrance and Remembrance Day.
Planning for 2024 has commenced and in February we will learn all the community gig songs we sing so learning will not be rushed and time can be taken to perfect the harmonies as over the years our program gets too busy to dedicate the required time to these.
March will see the commencement of another family show Disney Heros and Villains. Again under the direction of Paolo but this time a books down movement concert to be performed over two weekends June/July at CDU theatre.
More information about next years concerts will be sent out shortly.
Merry Christmas to everyone and hope to see you all back in 2024.
Annette
